Cyriel Ruers and Bas van Os are assisting an importer of choline chloride in an investigation by the European Commission into alleged dumping of this product from China.
The anti-dumping investigation was opened following a complaint by Balchem and Eastman, two producers of choline chloride in the European Union. Balchem and Eastman have stated that imports of choline chloride are being dumped on the EU market and are causing harm to the EU industry industry. Several stakeholders, including exporters, importers and endusers are participating in the investigation.
A non-EU company is considered dumping a product, if a product is exported to the EU at a price lower than the normal value of the product. This normal value is based on the prices on the cost of production, or the prices on the home market of the exporter. The Commission may, if it finds dumping that causes injury to the Union industry, impose (provisional) anti-dumping measures. These measures consist of import duties.
