On 28 September 2017 Diederik Schrijvershof spoke about the application of competition law in the healthcare sector at the Dutch association for competition law (Vereniging voor Mededingingsrecht or VvM). In his presentation (in Dutch) he discussed the possibilities to improve the procedure at the Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) of giving informal opinions regarding collaboration in the healthcare sector. Moreover, Diederik elaborated on the supervision of competition between healthcare insurers on the basis of a research about the health insurance market by ACM and the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). Furthermore, developments in merger control in the mental health and hospital sector were addressed. Bart Broers, director of the Taskforce Healthcare at the ACM, gave his opinion on the recent developments in the healthcare sector during the meeting.
