The team of Maverick Advocaten has become the specialist in obtaining approval for mergers and acquisitions from the Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM) and other regulators. Over the past 10 years, we have obtained the required approval for hundreds of transactions for our clients. In the past six months, we even assisted with 30% of all merger decisions with the ACM (20 out of 65 notifications). This has made us the market leader in ACM notifications.
In addition, we are involved in at least one of the further (second phase) investigations by the ACM every year, such as the licensing procedure for the acquisition of oil trader Klaas de Boer by FincoEnergies or the acquisition of medical device company Eurocept by Mediq.
We distinguish ourselves through our pragmatic approach aimed at cost-effectively obtaining approval for a transaction as quickly as possible. We do this not only with the ACM, but also with other regulators such as the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) and the Investment Testing Agency (BTI), where we also handle a large proportion of the notifications. As a result, we may count most of the (larger) M&A firms, advisors and private equity firms in the Netherlands among our regular clients.
We are very proud of this market position and plan to expand it to a monopoly.
