Maverick Advocaten in Global Competition Review about dawn raid by ACM

Cyriel Ruers was interviewed by Global Competition Review (GCR) about the dawn raid by the Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) and the Belgian Competition Authority (BMA) at an IT equipment manufacturer and its distributors. The companies are suspected of coordinating prices, dividing customers and restricting the sale of refurbished equipment.

"Maverick Advocaten partner Cyriel Ruers in Amsterdam noted that restrictions on the sale of recycled devices is a "hot topic" within the agency given its stance on sustainability.

The move demonstrates the ACM's continued commitment to investigating vertical arrangements following a lack of enforcement for nearly two decades, he added."

This raid follows previous fines by the ACM to LG and Samsung for vertical agreements. We previously wrote blogs about this, which can be found here and here.
