Martijn van de Hel and Cyriel Ruers hosted a live webinar for the Dutch Association of In-House Legal Counsels (NGB) on 5 December 2024 on current affairs regarding the cartel ban and consumer protection.
This two-hour session focused on recent competition law developments, such as in the areas of vertical price fixing, exclusive supply, contractual non-competes, fines for countering parallel trade (grey imports) and prohibited labour market agreements (no-poaching). In the second hour, Martijn and Cyriel discussed the salient current affairs in the field of consumer law enforcement, including fines for the use of fake discounts, dark patterns (online deception) and greenwashing (misleading sustainability claims).
With almost 200 in-house legal counsels participating, many questions and discussion between participants in the chat, it was a successful and interactive meeting. The slides of the webinar can be found here.
