Cyriel Ruers was called in by BNR - in The Daily Move - to comment on the news that Ticketmaster allows the resale of concert tickets exclusively through its own platform.
This news recently attracted attention, as it would exclude competing ticket resale platforms - such as Ticketswap. At the same time, Ticketmaster would charge €40 service fee per second-hand ticket sold.
In the item, Cyriel Ruers addresses the question of whether Ticketmaster's practice possibly qualifies as abuse of an economic dominant position. Meanwhile, the Authority for Consumers & Markets (“ACM“) has announced that it is "keeping a close eye" on ticket sales in the Netherlands.
