Martijn van de Hel and Annabel Kingma have successfully assisted Peter Appel and Simon Loos in obtaining ACM’s approval of their merger. Peter Appel and Simon Loos are two large transport companies that mainly work for supermarkets and food companies. The new Simon Loos will be an organisation with more than 3000 employees and 1400 vehicles, spread over more than 60 locations throughout the Netherlands. By means of this merger, the logistics service providers are taking steps towards a successful and sustainable future.
According to the Financieele Dagblad, “the transport combination, with a market share of 30%, will be the largest logistics service provider in supermarket supply.” NOS and nu.nl have also devoted attention to the merger.
ACM approved the merger on 14 December 2020.
