The team of Maverick Advocaten has assisted water authority Hoogheemraadschap De Stichtse Rijnlanden these past 18 months in the tender procedure for the Sterke Lekdijk: from brainstorming on the appropriate type of tender procedure to the provisional award published on 7 July 2020. If no rejected tenderers object to the provisional award, the project will commence after the summer.
The Lekdijk is one of the principal river dykes in the Netherlands and protects a large part of the centre and west of the Netherlands. The Lekdijk no longer meets the current standards and must therefore be reinforced over a distance of 55 km. This dyke reinforcement project is an ambitious undertaking. It was not an option to simply raise or broaden the dyke; it will have to be reinforced in a manner that fits into the landscape and the surroundings. Sustainable and innovative solutions are therefore required. The targets set can be achieved by means of the innovation partnership between the three partners.
Water authority Hoogheemraadschap De Stichtse Rijnlanden will carry out this project together with three innovation partners: Mourik Infra B.V., Van Oord Nederland B.V. and the Heijmans Infra B.V. – GMB Civiel B.V. – de Vries and van de Wiel B.V. group (the “Lek ensemble”).
