Martijn van de Hel and Paul Breithaupt successfully assisted Scherpenhuizen in obtaining approval from the ACM for its acquisition of Primeale.
Scherpenhuizen is a trading company in fresh vegetables. Scherpenhuizen mainly focuses on the trade of Dutch (greenhouse) vegetables. Through its subsidiary Kamps, Scherpenhuizen is also active in growing fresh vegetables. Primeale is also a trading company in fresh vegetables and focuses on both production and wholesale activities. Primeale is part of the French cooperative Agrial.
The transaction was notified tot the ACM on 19 December 2024. The ACM approved the notification on 8 January 2025. The transaction was also notified to and approved by the Federal Cartel Office in Germany.
