Diederik Schrijvershof and Saskia Stolk successfully assisted Alliance Healthcare in obtaining approval from the NZa and ACM for the acquisition of Spits Alkmaar.
Alliance Healthcare operates throughout the pharmaceutical care chain. Among other things, Alliance Healthcare is a wholesaler of medicines. In addition, Alliance Healthcare operates pharmacies under the ‘Boots’ brand. Alliance Healthcare is part of Cencora, Inc.
Spits Alkmaar focuses on supplying (semi-)automatically packed medicines to pharmacies and hospitals. Spits Alkmaar packs medicines per intake moment in medication or baxter rolls, making it easier and safer to administer medication.
The takeover was notified to the NZa on 17 April 2024. The NZa approved the concentration on 16 May 2024. On 7 June, the takeover was notified to the ACM. The ACM approved the concentration on 2 July.
