Mats Reijman is a lawyer in the field of European and Dutch competition law and sector-specific regulation.
Mats has experience in administrative enforcement proceedings - such as administrative fines and orders under penalty - before The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA), and with various aspects of competition law. He advises companies on matters relating to the prohibition of abuse of dominance, and unlawful (pricing) agreements. Mats also has experience in dawn raids by the European Commission and the Dutch Competition Authority (ACM). In recent years, Mats has gained experience in the food, retail and agri sector.
Mats is a board member of the Studiekring Europees Recht (STER), the youth association of the Dutch Association for European Law (NVER).
Mats was admitted to the Dutch Bar in August 2021 and joined Maverick Advocaten in April 2023. Previously he worked at another law firm where he focused on competition law and food safety. In 2020 Mats obtained his Master’s degree in European Law at Leiden University. He wrote his thesis on possible abuse of dominance by Apple through its App Store. In 2019 Mats obtained his Master's degree in Public International Law at Leiden University.
